Rules
1. Anyone can join but right now the limit is 13. But plese speak English or try to.
2. Don't judge others, and don't fight. (Unless its roleplaying.)
3. No spamming, double posting and all that other junk. Remember, forum rules still apply.
4. I am allowed to kick anyone from the story/roleplay. Why? Because you may have broken a rule more than once with a warning. And people don't like rule breakers.
5. NO powerplay. For ex: "I was surrounded by 100 men. But I defeated them all with my thunder ability, and plus I'm immortal and can't die."
6. *Optional: STICK to the story. If you can. A good RP thread shouldn't be so random at all times.
8. If you are inactive for more than a month, without saying anything about it. Then we will assume your character is dead and replace your slot. This will have a fairness for other people who want to join in. Also No one is allowed to "kill" off someones character. I am only allowed to because of either inactivity or rulebreaking.
9. There is no rule seven.

Background History: (Don't make it to long, a paragraph is good enough. If your choosing a Tales Runner character then go with their bio.)

Heres mine:
Name: Kimmi Itō
Gender: Girl
Age: 15
Weapon: Oversized kitchen knife. About 3 feet long.
Backstory: Kimmi was just a lonely girl living in Japan. But when she was 10 years old, her father sold her to a Japanese mafia. The Yakuza, there she worked as a kitchen slave where she cooked for the mafia. One day she followed some agents on a mission overseas to cook for them. There a tragic accident happened and she was the only one that survived. Now on the run from the Yakuza, she lives in disguise hoping to live a normal life. But having trouble, she becomes the little monster the Yakuza forms her into. Having trusting problem she tends to ask a lot of questions expecting an answer.
So here's the story so far.
This story takes place after USTR shuts down. Fantasy Island was then abandoned and over time pollution turned it into a mutant nightmare.
You happen to be on an airplane taking a vacation when it crashes to this cursed Island. Now it is up to all of us to escape this once great fantasy paradise and survive the Mutant Island.

Just something I will repeat from the forums: I do like the way you guys write Kuro, and sometimes the way you write him I just feel that it's kind of OOC for him. He's cocky but not to the point he becomes a prick. He does make comments that make him a prick but he keeps them to himself because he believes that even if he says something, that person wouldn't change. He tries to be friendly but he's too shy to say anything. To make it more simpler for you to understand he's a dandere+kuudere hybrid. He's not antisocial, just shy. Also something to note: You guys can't read minds, SOO PLEASE DON'T.  ________________ "Shin, huh. Using two pistols. Why? Knives are so much better. They're easy to hide, they don't jam, and never run out of bullets. I wouldn't dare say anything, though. I'm always wrong. That's what she always says— I'm thinking about her again aren't I? Damn it..." I thought to myself. I didn't have any comments about anyone else. They're all better in a way than me, except for my skill in knives. Maybe Akari was right— I died because I'm pathetically dumb, weak and inferior. I feel the need to be superior. I trust people too easily. I won't try to make myself superior, I swore. I won't go trusting people randomly, I swore. But why should I trust them? And by what right do they demand that I trust them? "Face it Kurotatsu, you're going to die here. Everything is a bluff. Life is filled with nothing but utter defeats," my consciousness reminded me. I refused to accept it. There was still hope. Hope for me to regain trust in others. I'll keep protecting everyone. They're all like me. They're human. They have lives. I'll protect them even if they don't trust me. That's my role. I just want other people to accept my existence, to realize my existence. I envy those who have the means to do this. I don't hate them. I just want them to understand me. Tch. Understand. How are they going to understand if I don't speak up? Then again, I don't trust them. I'll just protect them as much as I can. I can't— I won't lose anybody ever again. That's the vow I made, and I'll keep to it for ever more. "Aina, don't do such a thing again. Risking your life like that— do you want to die or something!?" I reprimanded her. Nobody understands the value of life. I do— I was nearly on the verge of death. I won't talk about that anymore. I don't want to remember. I don't want to remember. People need to know how much their lives cost. Even if they feel their lives are worthless— their lives are in fact priceless. No bargain on that. My sudden outburst of emotion shocked Aina and made her cry. Maybe I was being too harsh on her. Maybe it was because of all the emotions I've bottled up suddenly spilled on the floor. She's only fourteen. I regretted immediately looking at her reaction. Her eyes were full of pain. Perhaps a pain of something you could never forget. A guilt that will rest with you for all eternity, even beyond death. The thing that happened to her probably wasn't the same, but I felt for her. I hugged her tenderly. I felt her pain, even if I didn't understand it. "I'm sorry Aina... but that was still foolish of you to do that. Your courage and determination is outstanding but, remember that your life is precious," I gently coaxed her. "That goes the same for everyone else. Your life is precious. Don't waste it," Everyone stared at the changed me. I suddenly grew shy and turned my face away while still holding on to Aina. ___________________________ Stopping there. GO SISTER-COMPLEX KURO! just kidding. P.S. About Akari. She's just a person of the past in Kuro's life and might be dead(I say might because I'm not sure how to put Kuro's past together and I won't reveal spoilers either). Let me just write it for him. |

Sidenote: Kusanagi can be nicknamed Kusa if u want, but i thought it was kinda close to kuro :/
"Everyone get out! the planes falling out of the sky! ... who's smart idea was that. oh well, might as well make sure everyone got out." "Help my seatbelt is stuck!" "i should go help that girl. wait... is.. that girl over there.. SLEEPING. ... who do i help first... oh god.. well, i trust they will find a way out, ima just jump out." Kusa dived out of the falling airplane.
This wasnt so bad right? At least I'm diving into the ocean.. "Is that a girl? dang, nice weapons... I bet i coulda killed that shark faster though. Alright, here we go." A clean dive. perfect. just like he practiced. "Now, lets look around a bit." Ocean wildlife always amazed Kusa. In the city, all he had was the zoo. He always got kicked out though. "STREET RAT" thats what he was always called, but it didnt bother him anymore. not with his friends with him. But now hes alone again.
"An underwater cave? awesome!" The cave was huge, diamonds everywhere. and.. bones "Mayb i could take a few diamonds" *BOOM* a trap was triggered, the ceiling was collapsing. "Gotta get out!! couldnt even get one diamond.. theres the exit" Outside the cave a Troll was sleeping. Gotta be quite, i thought. I stepped cautiously. 3 more steps and im outa veiw. -snaps branch- "God." The troll roared. "Guess i cant keep out of trouble" I put my gloves on, blue energy swirled around it. "Damn, no water around here" i thought. "Its just a troll, il make this fast" I said arrogantly. The troll charged quickly, a little to quickly.. I jumped in the air "You're open!" I kicked down and sent the troll flying into the forest. "He shouldnt be any trouble anymore. Why did he move so fast though? Trolls are slow.. i gotta watch out on this island."
I walked through the forest. Mayb theres a lake somewhere. Then i could relax and regain some energy. More walking. "Still nothing.. and now its dark outside" Whats this? i sniffed the air. Yes! thats it! A lake!!.
I dived right in and swam some laps around. "Ahhhh.. i can feel my energy returning." Water always had this affect on me, even from before i had the gloves. "Well, it is dark, but-- OH i completely forgot about everyone else, i should look for them." I walked out of the pool refreshed and searched for more people.

and about kusanagi. He cant use water magic, without water. so he'll be kind of a mele until hes around some. if they find waterbottles though, he can use those to energize his gloves more, or just as mid range magic. Kusa preferably likes using magic. Also, water re energizes him. even before having the gloves. so.. mayb some unlocked hidden potential for magic, but later, like a lot later and ill add that part in myself.

I am Flying on a Plane to the mutated Island right now, because of the news, the Mutated Island is all over the news. The only thing is, I'm the only one that reads newspapers.
Oh my. I see everyone jumping out and I'm just sitting here?! I stuck my head out the door yelling "OHYEAH!". When I was going back into the plane I realized the force was too strong so I got sucked out the door. You could hear my back snap right that moment. I hear someone yell "OMG" in the plane, idk who. As I'm falling I start singing "Call Me Maybe", and then I landed in a deep pond filled with catfish and fishcats. "I remember these when I was here 70 years ago!" I whack one of the fishcats with my stick and I pick it up. "Yuup, Dead." The fish cat was a mutated catfish with no legs, just fins. The body and head was like a cat though. It could breathe water and air, it could also walk on land using it's fins. "Soon all the catfish will become fishcats." It has all the nutrients as a catfish, Maybe I can get Yuri to cook it for me. So I put it in my underpants to save for later.
"OMG IS THAT KUSANAGI?!" I walk slowly torwards Kusanagi then fall on my face only to make life worse.

Kimmi glared at Kuro, nobody makes Aina cry. Even if it was a mistake.Nobody. She walked over and pulled Aina from Kuro's arms. "Let's go back to the cave, and I'll cook up that monster for dinner if you guys bring it back." Aina began crying again on Kimmi's shoulder while they both walked back to the cave, Kimmi still glaring at Kuro. "Ok lets bring this monster's head back to the cave so we can eat tonight!" Anatsure yelled. V, crinkled her nose saying, "Ew we're really gonna eat that? Even the greatest chef wouldn't get me to eat..." "Look it's either that or dirt. Do you wan't to survive?" Shin snapped. "Look if we start now we can get the body back in the cave in time for dinner." Anatsure assured. "Fine." The three of them say in unison. And so they each start to push the monster's body towards the cave.

Everyone helped and brought the monster back to the cave.
"Kimmi, whip us up a nice meal today alright?" Anatsure patted Kimmi on her back, "show us your amazing skills."
"Well, I wouldn't call my skills 'amazing'." Kimmi laughed.
"Enough about cooking the monster, we don't even have firewood yet." Shin crossed his arms.
"That's alright, leave it to me I'll go find some firewood." V stood up.
"Ah, V, I'll go with you." I wiped my tears, "I can always bundle up fire wood using my chains."
"My sword skills will help you as well." Anatsure said calmly as she picked up her swords, "I'll get my antelope to come too. He'll help in some way."
"Alright, thanks guys." V smiled, "We'll be heading out now."
"Be careful you guys. Who knows what is out there." Kimmi warned us, "in the mean time, I'll cut up the monster."
"Have fun." Kuro sounded like he was daydreaming.
We walked deep into the forest.
"All the trees were soaked from the storm." V touched one of the rain soaked trees.
"We'll end up with smoke instead of a good fire if we use these." Anatsure looked around as she walked, "seems like the storm covered a big area."
"W-wait up." I was tired and falling behind.
"If you're tired then you can stay here for a bit while we gather up the firewood, Aina." Anatsure stopped and looked back at me.
"I'm really sorry.." I looked down and tried to avoid their eyes.
"It's alright. If something happens, just yell. We'll come as soon as possible." V's voice was gentle. I didn't look up at her but I was sure she was smiling at me.
V and Anatsure:
"V! Come here! I found some dry wood." Anatsure shouted out to V. She took out her sword and started cutting wood up and strapped it onto her antelope's back, "Sorry, this is a bit heavy, but please bare with it for now." V soon came running towards Anatsure.
"Wow, we finally found dry wood!" V gently touched the tree's bark, "This isnt the best it could be, but it will be enough.
V and Anatsure walked back to Aina with tons of firewood.
"That should be enough until the trees closer to the cave dries up." Anatsure smiled at their accomplishment.
Aina:
I sat down, playing with my chains.
"I really should have gone with them." I thought, "I'm just dragging them down..."
Soon, tears were rolling down my cheeks again.
"I'm... I'm such a crybaby.. I can't do anything right." I said to myself, "everyone's always comforting me, yet I can't do anything for them."
Suddenly I heard voices. It wasn't V's or Anatsure's. It was an old man's voice and a young boy's voice. I immediately became alerted. Cautiously, I picked up my chains trying not to make noises. I walked towards the voices until I was confident how far away they were from me. I concentrated on my chains and threw them out. My chains swiftly wrapped around a few trees silently and created a trap.
My heart was beating fast. I know my skills won't be enough, but this is all I can do for now.
As soon as I heard my chains being stepped on, I immediately pulled on the chains as hard as I could. I heard a boy's voice.
"What is this?!?!" The boy shouted, "Aghh! Let go of me." He was struggling. I wrapped my end of the chains around a tree tightly and walked towards them.
A young boy and an old man appeared in front of me hanging upside-down.
"Wh-who are you." I tried to sound as fierce as I could.
"We're innocent. We don't mean harm." The boy struggled more, but managed to turn around, "Hey, you're just a little girl."
"I'm not a little girl!" I was shouting and I was sure that V and Anatsure heard me as they ran towards me.
"Aina, are you alright?" V came running up to me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry for making you worry." I forced a smile.
"Well look what you got there." Anatsure caught up a bit after with her antelope, "More food?"
As soon as V saw the boy and the old man's face, she gasped, "Aren't you two passengers on the plane? I think I saw you two when I was walking by. Aina, they aren't bad people, release them."
I trusted V and released the old man and the boy. The boy was fine but the old man wasn't doing too well. After a while of resting, we learned their names: Kusa, the boy and Lox, the old man. I took some of the firewood that Anatsure and V found and brought Kusa and Lox back to the cave.

It was getting late. Everyone was sitting down chatting as Kimmi cooked them dinner. Kusa & Lox introduced themselves and everyone seemed to be enjoying the time. Heck, even Kuro had a smile on his face. V couldn't get what happened between her and Shin earlier out of her head. She thought to herself "Why did he grip me up so tight? I was just trying to tell him..." She glanced over to Shin, but quickly averted her eyes back at Kimmi and the fire when Shin looked back. "Don't wait up guys, I'm going to go for a walk, I'm not really that hungry anyway" said V. Kimmi seeming to be the only one who noticed and cared replied. "Okay, but are you sure that you don't want anything to eat, I'm almost finished." V didn't respond as she headed outside the cave with Thorne following along. Not realizing how long she had been walking it became dark, it was close to midnight and V couldn't see very much. "Thorne could you lead the way, please?" V begged. Thorne went in front breathing fire, giving light and heat, as well as leading the way back to the cave. *thump* "What was that?" V thought to herself. She quickly shrugged it off and depicted it as nothing to worry or fret about. *thump thump* "There it was again" she thought. "What could it possibly be." Approaching the stream right past where they met Kusa and Lox there it stood. Quickly V scream. "Help! Get it Thorne!" V cried as she began to pull her staff off her back. "Isn't that thing suppose to be in the water and why is it so big!" she thought to herself. The cave wasn't too far from where V screeched for help and they all heard it quickly headed out to look for V. "It's, it's an Octopus!" Kimmi said as she startled up behind V. V jumped, but quickly exhaled and was quite relieved to see that everyone was here. "Now that would make for a great lunch" Kimmi praised. "By the time we get it back to the cave I can cook it up and we can have something to digest for tomorrow." she went on. "I'm not going to be fighting mutated animals every day, you guys are on your own." Shin said as he began heading back to the cave. He was more focus on interpreting would V was trying to tell him the other day. Of course he could just ask her, but his pride was in the way. That and he had already hurt her feelings. The others shrugged as Shin walked away and began the attack. V was ready to chime in this time until the Octopus emulated electricity around it's body. "I've heard of electric eels, but not an electric octopus. What's wrong with this place!" Anatsure said. "It is corrupt and mutated and I plan to find out just what is causing it all" said Kuro.
I am still working on the drawings, but it might be a week and some days before I can get you a fully completed colored version(hopefully you will like the idea and designs I came up with).
@ava Yuri* and I'll bite, but you knew them when they were kids, not when you were one. You must remember the significant age difference. [/Center][/Color]

Electric octopuses. Giant monsters. And they plan to eat them. These guys. Have they never learned how to survive in a damn forest? Eating something that you don't even know if it's poisonous or not. That's the most basic thing ever— don't eat stuff YOU DON'T KNOW. I had enough of this nonsense already. I'm going to solve this damned mystery and get out of this hellhole.
"I'm just gonna take a breather," I tried to say loudly enough for them to hear, at the same time hiding all of my emotions and my true intentions from them.
I bet they didn't hear. They weren't bothered to acknowledge such a useless person like me anyway. Guess I'm just a hindrance to them. I climbed a tree and thought of nothing. Only reflecting on what I should have done in the past.
"It's useless. The past has already been done. Whether or not you did it right or wrong, it doesn't matter. You still have to bear the burden for everything," I silently thought to myself.
I was trying to get in the good books of everybody, but all I did was make it worse. I made everything worse. That's what I'm always doing. Making everything worse, and hiding what I really feel. Why am I even living...
A red fruit caught my eye. It was an apple. Huh. They haven't corrupted yet? I bet they're still poisonous. I ate them anyway in an act of suicide. I didn't want to live. It was bad enough I wasn't accepted in the society where I live. Now I'm not even accepted here. But that's just hypocritical of me. I'm just a cowardly little dog constantly barking. In order to protect my silly little thing called pride, I only looked at my own justice and prejudices. I just assumed everyone around me was bad—and up to this day I still continue barking. I understand my condition and I'm irritated by it, but up until now I still depended on it. It would only grab hold of my consciousness. I merely sighed at my plight and wolfed the apple down.
Surprisingly, it wasn't as I thought. It tasted the same like a normal apple. Why? Everything else was corrupted here. Why was this apple tree the only thing that wasn't? Here came another good question— should I tell them about the tree or not? A part of me was telling me to let the others know and another part of me told me to ignore them because they don't deserve to exist. I was going insane. I decided to do nothing— I would only make the situation worse than it already is.

We brought back the octopus planning to eat it. However, Kuro didn't seem to like the idea.
"Will Kuro be alright?" V was worried.
"Worry about yourself. He'll survive." Shin took a bite of his cooked octopus.
I stared at my food for a while, pictures of the ugly monster came back to my mind, but that wasn't as important as my hungry stomach. I finished everything Kimmi gave me.
After the meal, my eyelids were getting heavy.
"I'm.. tired, I'll go to sleep first." I yawned.
"Good night." Kimmi gave me a jacket to keep warm and patted me on the head.
"What a baby, sleeping so soon." Shin's comment did not hurt me... At least I wasn't focused on the comment. I soon fell asleep.
"Aina..." a soft voice broke my sweet dreams, "Aina... Be careful..."
"Who are you?" I tried to walk towards the voice but my body won't move, "Where am I? What is going on?!" I was scared, but I wasn't trembling... I wasn't even moving. I couldn't feel my hands nor my legs.
"Aina... Your past-" The voice suddenly stopped but continued on, "He is dangerous-" The voice was cut yet again.
"My past? Who are you?! Please tell me about my past. Who is dangerous?" I struggled to break free of this weird constant pressure on me.
"If you are not careful, he will take over." The voice warned me, "it seems that I cannot stay here for long. Come find me.. I am Aira."
"Aira? Wait wait! What about my past??" Suddenly I woke up covered in cold sweat. What was that.. I thought to myself. I think I need to go for a little walk.
I tiptoed pass everyone's sleeping bodies hoping not to make any noise and wake someone up. The sun was rising. I stretched and yawned. That was quite a dream...
"Aira..." I said to myself.
"Seems like you're up pretty early." Shin walked out behind the trees.
"Ah.. Yeah. I guess I just had a weird dream." I forced a smile. I was never too close with Shin, I don't know how to talk to him properly...
"Aira, is she bothering you somehow? You seem to call her name pretty often, even in your sleep." Shin asked while looking at me with a serious face.
"Oh no it's nothing." I tried to hide it from Shin, but his blue eyes saw right through me, so I told him the truth. "Well... In my dream, this Aira girl told me that she knows my past and she told me to find her."
"Your past, huh?..." Shin looked up to the sky for a bit and turned his head towards the cave, "Looks like people are waking up." Shin walked towards the cave leaving me behind. What was this? Why was Shin so gentle when he talked to me about my past? I couldn't understand...
